Greetings from the Mumbai Anaesthesiologists Society!
It is my proud privilege to announce the MASCON 2018-World Anaesthesia Day Conference. The theme for this years meeting is "Brand Anaesthesia-Challenges and opportunities" The venue is the beautiful JW Marriott -Sahar on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st October 2018. The pre-conference workshops will be organized over two days-Sunday 14th and Friday 19th October 2018 at various venues.
The theme symbolizes the overwhelming transformations in the field of Anaesthesia. Today, the Anaesthesiologist is well established in the operation theatre where her/his keen sense of discipline and commitment to patient safety has pushed boundaries of the invasiveness and precisions of the surgical procedures. New avenues are opening swiftly for the anaesthesiologists not only in Anaesthesia related activities outside the operation theatre but also in varied fields such as Pain medicine, Critical care medicine, Infection Control ,Rapid response systems, leadership roles in hospital administration ,policy making ,education and academics. At the same time, the Anaesthesiologist today stands at the crossroads. In the ever-changing scenario of medicine in our country where public perceptions about practitioners are evolving and controlling an ever increasing healthcare cost becoming more daunting and given the constant pressure to satisfy a demanding and easily aggrieved 'cleintale',a confident and resilient brand for our community needs to emerge.
The MASCON 2018 is a step in this direction. Renowned speakers and the brightest minds in our field will meet in Mumbai at the MASCON 2018.Their goals over the past events have been to disseminate knowledge in the field of Anaesthesia. This year they will also seek to infuse ideas into our collective conscience about building an effective image along with helping us imbibe new skill sets. Let it be known-The way ahead is paved with bright prospects for those who are willing to take on the challenges.
In addition as a stimulus to the academic activities in our chosen field of activity-the Mumbai Anaesthesiologists Society will bestow the 1st Dr Sameer Pradhan Award to outstanding Clinical Research in Anaesthesia. The researcher will be awarded the Dr Sameer Pradhan Medallion and a handsome purse of Rs 21,000. Similarly, big prizes await the quiz teams, deabate teams along with our hugely popular rich gifts for stall visits and activity participation. All in all, this is an academic event not to be missed.
There is the small matter of celebrating the World Anaesthesia day which will be showcased in an electrifying evening on Saturday 20th October.
